Terms of Use

Last updated: September 11, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Scout browser. By downloading or using Scout, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Scout on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.

Open-source software

Scout includes open-source software, including the Brave browser, licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 and other open-source licenses. Those licenses govern that software, and nothing in these Terms limits the rights they give you.

Safety checks are a guide, not a guarantee

Scout's checks are automated and can be wrong. A harmful site may not be caught, and a safe site may be flagged. When Scout warns you or blocks a site, you can always choose to continue. You remain responsible for the sites you visit and the information you share.

Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the safety-check service, and not to use Scout in any unlawful way.

Disclaimer

Scout is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or the sites you visit with it.

Changes

We may update these Terms; the current version always applies, with its effective date shown above.
